With the primary elections coming up, anyone who is eligible to vote, should. It is very important to be aware of the propositions being proposed. The current cost of living in California is immensely expensive. California is experiencing a severe shortage of affordable housing which may lead to serious consequences of life and death, having a direct negative impact on low incomes families, communities, and individuals. Proposition 1 would build affordable homes for veterans, low-income families, and people with disabilities. Californians are experiencing homelessness at an increasing rate due to the expensive rent rates. Proposition 1 would allow $4 billion in general obligation bonds, to be used toward affordable housing programs and leverage federal dollars for new housing to be built. I believe the people should Vote YES on Prop 1 because California is in desperate need of affordable housing for all.
